Travel is a common theme in popular indie singer Chet Lam's albums, serving as inspiration for Travelogue, Travelogue Too, and his most recent Mandarin release The Private Life of Chet Lam. For his new Cantonese album City Traveller, Chet is traveling once again, but this time he stays closer to home in Hong Kong. The album's 12 songs, all written and composed by Chet, touch on Hong Kong culture, people, and places, recording his observations and experiences in reflective lyrics and gentle sounds. "City-covering Saga" (Track 1), for example, talks about late "King of Kowloon" Tsang Tso Choi, an elder street poet whose calligraphic graffiti once covered nearly every corner of Hong Kong's public spaces. Other featured songs include first plug "Right After I Light My Cigarette, the Bus Comes" (Track 5), "Coffee/Mate" (Track 7), and "Dolphin's Faint Smile" (Track 11).
